ISLS annual meeting 2025 takes place at The University of Helsinki that is Finland’s largest and oldest academic institution and an innovative center of science and thinking. University of Helsinki has been an integral part of the birth of the Finnish national identity and our welfare state since 1640. Over the years, University of Helsinki has grown into 40 000 people scattered into 11 faculties on four campuses. It is ranked in the top 1% of the world’s universities.

The conference’s primary venue – University of Helsinki main building – is a protected, culturally, and historically significant building in the heart of Helsinki.
The main building hosts most of the conference activities:
- Opening and closing ceremonies
- Plenary sessions (keynotes)
- Pre-conference workshops
- Concurrent paper sessions
- Poster sessions

Welcome reception
City Hall
The evening welcome session on Tuesday evening will be held in the Helsinki City Hall, located just beside the university main building.
