Welcome to Helsinki
Helsinki is capital city of Finland. It was rebuilt by architect Carl Ludwig Engel, who created the city its monumental Empire-style Centre – called Senate Square, where the most noticeable buildings are located: the Helsinki Cathedral, Helsinki University main building, Government Palace and City Hall.
Helsinki is well-known for its innovative art, culture and architecture with variety of museums and many attraction to visit by boat such as magnificent sea-fortress of Suomenlinna, built on an outlying island but also other small islands.

Suomenlinna and other islands
Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a historic sea fortress spread across several islands, located just off the coast of Helsinki. The islands offer scenic walking paths, beaches, and picnic spots, as well as many museums, art galleries and workshops.
Suomenlinna and nearby islands are easily accessible by ferry from the city center, part of Helsinki’s public transport.

The official Helsinki Day is Thursday 12.6., and all museums, concerts and exhibitions are free of charge to visit!
